The Junior Explanar >>
I had the privilidge and pleasure of working with the creator of the Explanar, Mr Luther Blacklock, way back in 2002. He had already designed and made the adult sized model, but he really wanted to be able to provide a model that youngsters could use.
Just a couple of years ago, the Junior Explanar came of the production line and it's brilliant.
Stabillisers
Just like the stabillisers you use when you learn to ride a bike, the Explanar helps you learn how to swing a golf club in the most natural way possible. You simply establish a great swing action by doing and feeling, the most most positive and effective methods of learning.
As a golf coach, it is my job to watch and know what's happening in the golf swing, the pupil is guided as simply as possible with as little mechanical thought as possible.
A fantastic training aid
There are thousands of golf training aids on the market and this is certainly one of the best. Any golfer and certainly, any junior golfer will benefit greatly from training with the Explanar, I have seen amazing and dramatic results.
Great for fitness
The Explanar is an excellent fitness aid, the roller you use is weighted thereby giving all the major muscle groups a good workout as well as strengthening your key golf muscles.
Great for balance
Using the Explanar will help you gain and establish control and balance within your golf swing, it will also help with you timing. With the weighted roller you have to work with it rather than dominate it. This helps your timing and co-ordination.
Swingplane
When I'm coaching and I see the pupil 'looping' the club or coming off plane, the last thing I really want to do is fill there head with lots of technical stuff that they probably wouldn't understand. Just a few minutes on the Explanar solves the problem and saves a lot of time and expense trying to achieve a consistent swing action.
A swing for life
Once a pupil has grasped the basics of the golf swing, it stays with them for life. You can still see that Colin Montgomerie started the game with clubs that were too long and too heavy for him. It has molded his swing to this day and he has done absolutely brilliantly with it. The early years in golf are vital and the Explanar develops a great swing that will last forever.
