Beginners Group Tuition

Learning golf in a group environment can be great fun and an economic alternative to individual lessons.
I will be starting group lessons for all beginners and those who would like to start the game, just click on the link to find details of times and dates. Everyone's welcome, men, ladies, the young and the more mature. Why not come as a couple or drag your best friends along, you can organise your own group of work colleagues or gym buddies, the more the merrier.
What to expect
If you're new to golf, the prospect of even driving up to the club can be quite daunting. Please rest assured that the welcome at Thornbury Golf Centre will be warm and helpful.
Armed and dangerous
We will meet at the golf reception and once the class is assembled, I will make sure everyone's armed and dangerous with the appropriate clubs. Then it's off to the range where we will start playing golf.
Firm foundations
After a few sessions you will grow in golf confidence and we will build your swing into a consistent repetitive action. It is so important to get the basics right, then you've got a great platform on which to build your swing.
Basic basics
You will learn the fundamentals of aiming the club and your body lines, then you will be shown how to hold the club. Once this part of your set up is established you will build your stance so you address the ball in a great neutral position, ready to hit long straight shots down the range.
Easy game
You will experience the thrill of seeing the ball fly into the air and away towards your intended target, you will enjoy the feeling of immense satisfaction of having achieved a good golf shot. Starting and learning any new set of skills can seem a bit daunting, the info comes thick and fast and everything's new. This is where I can help, the information will make sense and the results come quickly, then with enough success references your progress is assured.
2 Part exercise
Learning golf tends to be a 2 part exercise, by this I mean, first you learn how to hit the ball and then you learn how to play golf. Similar to when you learn to drive, it is said that you only really learn how to drive after you've passed your test.
These course will ensure that you do both, the early lessons will give you all the basics and then we will introduce you to the course where everything will come together. This is the difference that makes a difference, experience has shown me that too many things change when new golfers venture onto the course, these lessons will help you make that great leap onto the field of play.
